Engineering Technician

Washington Laboratories is Hiring! Based out of Frederick, Maryland WLL is looking for an Entry Level, Engineering Technician. As an ET1 at Washington Laboratories, you will play a critical role in assessing and validating the compliance of various electronic devices and systems. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive tests in accordance with FCC, CE, EU, International, MIL-STD-461 and other relevant standards.

Our clientele include organizations from the Industrial, Energy, Sensing, Communications, Defense, Aerospace, Medical and Architectural sectors. For over 30 years we have conducted over 20,000 test programs across a diverse range of industries.

• Plan and execute tests on a variety of electronic devices and systems, notably following MIL-STD-461, FCC, ISED, EU/CE Marking, Aerospace and other applicable standards.
• Set up and calibrate test equipment, including conducted and radiated emissions measurement systems, transient generators, and susceptibility testing systems.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their testing requirements, provide technical guidance, and address any questions or concerns.
• Generate detailed test plans, procedures and reports that accurately document test configurations, methodologies and results.
• Analyze test data and provide recommendations for design improvements to achieve EMC compliance.
• Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during testing, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant standards, regulations, and industry trends.
• Ability and willingness to travel to customer locations on a periodic basis.

• 2-year technical degree or certification.
• 4-year degree is not required.
• This role is entry level.
