Construction Electrical Engineer Secret Clearance Required
Tetra Tech is hiring an Electrical Engineer to support the U.S. Department of State’s Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) during the Athens Major Rehab Project. The selected candidate will ensure compliance with design specifications and U.S. codes throughout the lifecycle of the construction project.
Your Impact:
As the Electrical Engineer, you will monitor and inspect electrical construction work, validate compliance with contract documents, and ensure high-quality project outcomes. Your expertise in low and high voltage systems, as well as fire alarm and telecom infrastructure, will directly support the project’s successful delivery.
Assignment Details:
The role is a 24‑month assignment based in Athens, Greece, with potential for extension. An additional requirement is that the candidate must be a United States citizen. Seven years of field experience in commercial construction and a Secret clearance are required.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical inspections of electrical systems, including high/low voltage equipment and life‑safety systems.
- Review design drawings and contractor submittals for compliance.
- Oversee contractor’s quality control and safety programs.
- Ensure adherence to U.S. construction standards and local regulations.
- Submit weekly progress reports with technical findings and recommendations.
- Participate in project meetings and site inspections.
- Support resolution of conflicts related to electrical systems.
- Track project schedules and assist with evaluating change orders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited U.S. university (ABET‑accredited or substantially equivalent).
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience on active construction sites.
- Proficiency in conducting technical inspections of electrical systems including high/low voltage equipment and life‑safety systems.
- Proficiency in reviewing design drawings and contractor submittals for compliance.
- Proficiency in overseeing contractor quality control and safety programs.
- Proficiency in ensuring adherence to U.S. construction standards and local regulations.
- Proficiency in submitting weekly progress reports with technical findings and recommendations.
- Proficiency in participating in project meetings and site inspections.
