Field Technician - Implementation Specialist
Job Description LS Technologies, a Tetra Tech Company, is seeking an Implementation Specialist to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in revolutionizing the National Airspace System (NAS). The Field Implementation Team Member must be comfortable with jumping right into performing site surveys and site preparations for primarily remote FAA facilities. The utilization of all skills listed below will be critical to the success of completing each task.
While site surveys and site preparations are the primary functions of an NDS Team Member, there is a third function, the prompt and accurate completion and submission of reports. It is paramount that this LST NDS employee can work independently and seamlessly transition into the more dynamic task of working with fellow team members (sometimes leading the team and other times in a support role).
- Visual observations of the site
- Identifying utilities and grounding
- Taking detailed measurements and photos
- Determining locations for New Telco equipment.
- Coordinate directly with FAA personnel to accomplish tasks.
- Review and compile data from the field into a working database.
- Surveying telecommunications equipment at primarily remote FAA facilities.
- Perform detailed site preparations for designated FAA Facilities
- Utilize electrical and construction skills to complete tasks
- Site preparations may include very physical work (manual digging, use of heavy equipment, lifting of items (75lbs), etc.).
- Detail written reports of both site survey and site preparation tasks
- Input assigned task information into a variety of databases
- Submit and maintain receipts of assigned tasks (Expense Reports)
Position Requirements
- Knowledge of General Electrical installations (Critical and Essential power runs)
- Prepare written and oral reports for upper management regarding the status of a project
- Prompt and accurate submission of required reports
- Ability to obtain certification in Tower Climber and Rescue Competent Person (average towers range from 100ft to 300ft in height)
- Expertise using the Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams)
- Knowledge of basic electrical and ground
- Knowledge of heavy equipment use (excavators, skid steer, etc.)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to coordinate with others to identify and solve a variety of problems
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Experience working in and around critical operational equipment
- Ability to perform moderate physical activity: climbing, lifting (75lbs), and crawling to install network cable and equipment in awkward and confined spaces
- Ability to communicate issues or concerns affecting the tasks and assist in the resolution
- Ability to provide liaison function with various FAA lines of business and external customers
- Coordinating activities with designated FAA staff, service vendors, and other contract support personnel to complete tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Licensed Driver (this position requires a valid Driver’s License for the life of the position)

- Background check:
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
- Lifting and Carrying:
Occasional lifting of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds may be required during installations or maintenance. - Mobility:
Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware, networking equipment, and server rooms. - Dexterity:
Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision. - Sitting/Standing:
Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues. - Outdoor work with exposure to variable weather conditions
