Duties
* You will address technical issues in the engineering, test and development phases of the system.
* You will coordinate and establish the scope, time, schedule and associated planning of the programs listed above and will recommend corrective action when necessary to meet requirements.
* You will participate in problem investigations involving integration of missile subsystems and includes evaluating changes in the interfaces with the submarine combat control room.
* You will evaluate system engineering, requirements management techniques, and engineering risks for strategic weapons.
* You will demonstrate an understanding of weapon system safety, software engineering, and mission planning by finding ensuring that all aspects of the system meet requirements as stated within the system specifications and subsystem specifications
* You will participate in evaluations regarding developmental testing and surveillance programs, reports from flight and ground tests, security reports, and technical engineering service studies.
* You will participate in budgetary submissions in accordance with SSP direction and procedures including development of budgets, preliminary budget estimates, and internal meetings with other branches within SLCMN to prioritize development work.
* You will continually assess the safety, performance, and reliability of the deployed subsystems. Requirements Conditions of employment

* This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition
Functional Area
and category assigned to the position is required within established category time frames.
* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Managing, planning, or analyzing system-level integration activities for an advanced missile system to ensure all technical baselines and requirements are met. This includes incorporating nuclear safety design principles into systems engineering policies and technical guidance;
2) Coordinating and integrating programmatic missile system efforts (i.e. contract management, scheduling, change controls, and/or inter-branch requirements validation);
3) providing technical expertise in weapon system validation and/or nuclear surety standards to maintain directive compliance. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:
