Serves as an Electronics Engineer within the Office of Airports, Airports Engineering Division (AAS-100) and is responsible for developing standards, guidelines, specifications and other related criteria for airfield electrical systems incorporating tested and supported applicable industry developments where evidentially feasible, and supporting FAA LOBs/SOs and partners in understanding and pursuing compliance with FAA standards.
Specialized Experience- Experience designing airfield electrical systems in support of airfield design, signage, lighting, or visual aids.
- Experience applying engineering principles, processes and procedures related to airfield lighting, navigational aids or signage systems.
- Experience applying lifecycle performance, maintenance, and safe integration of airfield electrical infrastructure.
- Experience testing, inspecting and upgrading various types of airfield lighting systems and electrical components.
To qualify for this position you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I, FG/GS-13 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
