Vie Site Engineer
The V.I.E. Site Engineer will support the delivery of a major underground infrastructure project in Washington, DC. The project consists of constructing a Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) tunnel and its ancillary structures to connect to the existing sewer network. Its purpose is to collect and store combined sewer overflows and stormwater runoff and convey them to the DC Water Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant, improving water quality in the Potomac River.
Project characteristics:
- 6-mile (9.6 km) tunnel
- 19.5 ft (5.9 m) diameter
- 9 shafts
- Contract value: USD $819 million
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the day-to-day management of site operations.
- Conducting site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Coordinating with Project Managers, Senior Engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including progress reports, site diaries, and as-built drawings.
- Monitoring compliance with health and safety requirements on site.
- Supporting the preparation of project schedules, cost estimates, and resource allocation plans.
- Assisting in implementing and monitoring quality control procedures.
- Liaise with local authorities, utility companies, and other relevant entities under the guidance of senior team members.
- Participating in project meetings and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and skills:
- Engineering degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
- Eligible for the French V.I.E. program.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and understand project documentation and engineering drawings.
- Understanding of construction project management, industry standards, and safety standards.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Experience on Civil Construction Site preferred.
