Senior Aerospace Test Engineer

Technology Service Corporation (TSC) is seeking a Senior Aerospace Test Engineer to support work at the Naval Research Laboratory. This role offers an opportunity to directly impact high‑priority Navy missions by leading advanced aerospace experimentation efforts.

Overview

The engineer will define and oversee ground and flight aerodynamics experimentation, including subscale wind tunnel testing, high‑enthalpy tunnel testing, full‑scale vehicle wind tunnel testing, and captive‑carry sounding rocket experimentation. The successful candidate will also aid in defining objectives, mission requirements, vehicle configurations, instrumentation, and data acquisition requirements for full‑scale flight demonstrations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead advanced aerospace experimentation efforts for ground and flight tests.
  • Define objectives, mission requirements, and vehicle configurations for experiments.
  • Specify instrumentation and data acquisition requirements for ground and flight testing.
  • Execute and manage comprehensive aerospace test campaigns, including test definition, setup, and execution.
  • Coordinate with test facilities such as wind tunnels and high‑enthalpy tunnels.
  • Analyze test data and produce technical reports.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure test success.
Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship and active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
  • Minimum of 10years of experience in aerospace experimentation.
  • Direct experience in supersonic and hypersonic flight and ground experimentation.
  • Experience with wind tunnels and other relevant test facilities.
  • Expertise in aerospace test instrumentation and data acquisition.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $153,000 – $218,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
  • Annual performance bonus and potential equity or incentive compensation.

In compliance with applicable pay transparency laws, the expected salary range for this position is $153,000 – $218,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
