Aero Design Engineer – MRE Development Track

Quest Global delivers world-class end-to-end engineering solutions by leveraging our deep industry knowledge and digital expertise. By bringing together technologies and industries, alongside the contributions of diverse individuals and their areas of expertise, we are able to solve problems better, faster. This multi-dimensional approach enables us to solve the most critical and large-scale challenges across the aerospace & defense, automotive, energy, hi-tech, healthcare, medical devices, rail and semiconductor industries.

We are looking for humble geniuses, who believe that engineering has the potential to make the impossible possible; innovators, who are not only inspired by technology and innovation, but also perpetually driven to design, develop, and test as a trusted partner for Fortune 500 customers. As a team of remarkably diverse engineers, we recognize that what we are really engineering is a brighter future for us all.

If you want to contribute to meaningful work and be part of an organization that truly believes when you win, we all win, and when you fail, we all learn, then we're eager to hear from you. The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills.

This role is an entry point into Quest Global's MRE (Material Review Engineer) certification pathway. You do not need MRE certification to apply — Quest Global provides full certification training and a structured development path.

As you progress through the MRE certification pathway, your responsibilities will grow to include:

  • Review and disposition Non-Conforming Material (parts), Deviation Requests, and Waivers from OEM and supply base, including Aftermarket MRO support (upon certification)
  • Assess fit, form, function, interchangeability, health, safety, intended use, weight, appearance, and major/minor classification based on technical data
  • Interact with Design Authority and customer/regulatory representatives as required
  • Determine or review part repair requirements and usage parameters
  • Conduct design and design-support engineering activities across the program lifecycle
  • Acquire, Hold and Maintain MRE (Material Review Engineer) Certification.

Complete Quest Global's MRE customer (re) certification training program — provided and supported by the company

Provide technical reviews of peers' work as proficiency develops

Support OJT/mentorship activities within the Engineering Design discipline

Support business development through daily technical work and client interactions

BS in Engineering required (Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline)

Equivalent combination of BS Engineering + substantial relevant experience will be considered

4 years of component-level design engineering experience in one or more of the following industries where nonconforming material processes are subject to government or regulatory oversight:

  • Aerospace & Defense — gas turbine engines (aero, marine, or industrial); structures, propulsion, rotating machinery, or precision components governed under AS9100/FAA regulatory frameworks
  • Medical Devices — regulated NCM/MRB processes under FDA 21 CFR Part 820 or ISO 13485
  • Rail & Heavy Industry — nonconformance programs under FRA oversight or equivalent heavy-industry regulatory frameworks
  • Automotive — formal MRB/NCM experience within an IATF 16949-compliant environment (OEM customer-approval disposition authority is a differentiator in this context)
  • MRB (Material Review Board) or non-conformance evaluation experience with signatory or disposition authority is a strong differentiator
  • Engineering signatory responsibilities — noteworthy
  • Quality engineering experience and/or certifications (e.g., CQE, AS9100/ISO 13485 familiarity) — noteworthy

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T

Experience reviewing engineering assessments, tolerance stacks, engineering changes, or deviations
