Arcadis is looking for a Stormwater Resilience Engineer to join our Resilience Water Team in the Mid-Atlantic region!
This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and independent professional to join our local team with national support from one of the best qualified consulting firms in the country. In this position, you will utilize your technical background and prior consulting experience to deliver stormwater planning and design solutions for our clients, with a focus on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
The Stormwater Resilience Engineer will assist project teams in executing projects and supporting project pursuits within the local and regional municipal market, in addition to participating in local professional groups to help build and grow our practice. You may also support projects in other regions, leveraging Arcadis’ national breadth of knowledge and expertise to share best practices, expand capabilities, and bring the best solutions to our clients.
Roleaccountabilities:
This role will perform engineering activities for stormwater modeling, evaluations, investigations, planning, feasibility studies, design and construction. This may include flood risk mapping, flood mitigation alternative analyses, development of stormwater BMPs, and assessment of conveyance improvements such as relief sewers, channel improvements, pumping facilities, and storage tanks.
- Perform, set up, assemble data, and coordinate resources to complete hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and calculations for stormwater linear design, watershed models, natural systems and dams, and act as a stormwater resource for teams across the region and country.
- Support sustainability and resilience projects with stormwater modeling, planning and design.
- Support preparation of reports, presentations, and other audio-visual materials, and participate in client meetings.
- Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality, health, and safety standards, and facilitate coordination for timely completion and submission of projects on time and budget.
- Work independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to accommodate collaboration with team members across the country.
- Learn / use digital and AI tools to enhance customer experience, team and client collaboration, and project delivery.
Travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes or to oversee construction activities, depending on project staffing needs.
Qualifications &Experience:
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental engineering.
- EIT or Professional Engineering (PE) License.
Candidates should have experience with hydraulic modeling and engineering evaluations, investigations, planning studies, feasibility analyses, and modeling of water and wastewater collection systems, with Info Works ICM experience preferred. Experience using GIS applications, particularly Arc Map, is helpful.
The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information, engage with clients and stakeholders, and collaborate with team members. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is expected.
Experience leveraging prompt engineering and AI-assisted workflows to improve the efficiency and quality of project deliverables is highly desirable. Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations is also valued.
