Senior Site Manager
SSI SCHAEFER, a global shelving, racking and automated material handling equipment manufacturer, is looking for a Senior Site Manager. The Senior Site Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of automated warehouse and intralogistics installation projects, including the coordination of site personnel, subcontractors, equipment, and project resources. Serving as the primary on-site contact for customers and stakeholders, this position ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of automation systems from installation through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assistance during commissioning activities, to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to customer specifications.
- Manage project planning, staffing, subcontractors, material logistics, risk mitigation, quality control, and progress reporting; implement corrective actions to achieve project milestones.
- Serve as the primary customer and contractor liaison, coordinating site meetings, resolving project issues, and overseeing turnover acceptance and open-item resolution.
- Direct the installation and integration of automated material handling systems, including AS/RS, conveyors, cranes, mezzanines, and related mechanical, electrical, and controls components.
- Maintain site safety compliance with authority to stop work, remove personnel, issue disciplinary actions, manage site resources, and provide regular status updates to project leadership.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience managing large-scale automated warehouse, intralogistics, or industrial construction projects with 60+ personnel and subcontractors.
- Experience overseeing installation, commissioning, and integration of automated material handling systems, including mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines.
- Strong understanding of warehouse automation technologies, project execution, risk management, and site operations.
- Ability to identify technical issues, ensure quality standards, and drive project completion in fast-paced environments.
- Willingness to travel extensively and remain on customer sites throughout installation and commissioning phases.
