Water Resources Engineer

Responsibilities- Provide project engineering and task management for hydraulic and hydrologic modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling and design; conduct research, prepare technical reports, and lead design calculations and engineering plans for detention facilities, storm drains, flood control facilities and other hydraulic structures.
- Work independently and plan, organize, and assist medium to large professional teams.
- Conduct water resources planning, develop formulation and concept development, and create planning documentation.
- Assist in water resources permitting efforts.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
- MS degree
- Minimum of 3 years experience in water resources engineering projects
- Experience with HEC‑1, HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, GEO‑RAS and storm drain system analysis
- Preference given to local candidates
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent field
- Previous experience in water resources engineering projects
- Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location (e.g., PE or P.Eng)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Commitment to HDR's employee‑owned culture is required
Fulton, MD: $83,391 - $119,130. Washington, DC: $90,972 - $129,960.
Primary location:
United States, Virginia, Vienna. Other locations:
Washington DC, Glen Allen, Roanoke, Virginia Beach, Maryland – Fulton.
