Duties

The duties of this position include:

  • Serves as a key liaison between internal and external entities to facilitate proper coordination and throughput of planning, architecture, and engineering projects and activities for the facilities and properties of the assigned AOC Jurisdiction.
  • As a Program Manager oversees a program of projects requiring project management expertise and coordination from project concept stage through the construction documentation, construction, equipment installation, checkout, and client delivery.
  • Acts as the Jurisdiction's main contact for scope, schedule, and budget concerns for projects supported by the Office of the Chief Engineer. Provides timely and accurate responses and guidance to Jurisdiction representatives' questions.
  • Utilizes project management information system (PMIS) to gather, integrate, and disseminate information throughout the life of a project.
  • Works with project managers to ensure arrangements are in place for timely and effective access to worksites by contractors. Coordinates and communicates with U.S. Capitol Police, Building Jurisdiction Directors, affected Congressional Staff members, and all other affected entities so they are fully informed of project requirements and expectations.
  • Follows all relevant safety rules, regulations, and standard operating procedures. Must utilize knowledge of and must comply with all OSHA safety rules and regulations to ensure that work progresses in a safe manner. Receives training, either on the job or through classroom training, to ensure that all safety practices and equipment are fully utilized. Must ensure project team's use of any required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Works with jurisdictions to develop and plan their program of projects by evaluating successful project sequencing, utilizing Facility Condition Assessment information, and developing budget strategies.
  • Coordinates with SMEs, PMs, and CMs in the Office of the Chief Engineer to resolve project concerns and communicate project status updates to project team, stakeholders, and leadership.
