We are currently seeking a Regulatory Scientist for our Chemical Regulation & Food Safety practice in the Washington, DC office. In this role you will work as part of a team to provide a high level of project management, FIFRA regulatory and technical assistance, and program support to the consultants in the Chemical Regulation and Food Safety practice.
You will be responsible for- Managing and tracking client projects, project deliverables and budgets
- Collaborating with internal project teams to discuss client projects, tasks, deliverables and budgets
- Interacting with clients as well as EPA and State regulators
- Gaining a strong understanding of chemical regulatory policy including TSCA
- Knowledge of product stewardship principles and the ability to apply that knowledge across a range of industries and product types.
- Preparing and submitting regulatory approval documents
- Providing regulatory and technical review and quality control support for TSCA and product stewardship projects
- B.S. degree is required. M.S. or Ph.D. in a Science related field is preferred
- Experience with TSCA and other environmental regulations
- Experience in a scientific, research, or consulting environment is a plus
- Must be detail oriented, able to work independently, and manage time effectively
- Excellent communication, writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Strong ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, with an understanding of their capabilities, limitations, and appropriate applications.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat required
- Exposure to sensitive information will necessitate considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment
- Experience with project management, budget tracking, and invoicing a plus
- Strong commitment to professional development
- Entrepreneurial spirit is a plus
