Your OpportunityIn this position as an intern, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and designers on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment. This position is intended to be 40 hours per week in the Washington, DC office location.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Work closely with and assist Building Mechanical Engineers and Designers to prepare reports, design documents, and calculations.
- Perform engineering calculations using HVAC design software and Excel
- Use AutoCAD and Revit to prepare HVAC and plumbing drawings and details
- Learn to apply fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams
- Participate in Summer Intern Design Project with interns of other building design disciplines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to solve problems using sound engineering judgment, creativity, and innovation
- Strong work ethic and motivation to learn
- Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite
- Working knowledge of software programs including AutoCAD MEP and Revit
- Working knowledge of heat transfer calculations
- Commitment to a culture of safety
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university
- The candidate should have the ability to report to the office in Washington, DC
- Some fieldwork may be required.

Pay Range:$23.47 - $34.50 Hourly
Pay Transparency:In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
