Class II Water Treatment Operator

Position Summary

Cooper Build is seeking a qualified
* Class II Water Treatment Operator
* to support the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of water treatment systems in the Washington, DC area. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with water treatment equipment, pumps, valves, filtration systems, chemical treatment, water-quality testing, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and maintain water treatment systems and associated equipment.

Monitor pumps, valves, filters, tanks, chemical-feed systems, meters, and control systems.

Perform routine water-quality testing, sampling, and equipment inspections.

Record operational readings, test results, chemical usage, and maintenance activities.

Adjust treatment processes as required to maintain proper water-quality and operating conditions.

Identify equipment malfunctions and coordinate troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

Maintain required operational and compliance documentation.

Follow applicable safety procedures, environmental requirements, and operating protocols.

Respond to alarms, abnormal operating conditions, and emergency situations.

Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and other site personnel as required.

Qualifications

* * Valid Class II Water Treatment Operator license/certification
* appropriate for the project jurisdiction.

Previous hands-on experience operating or maintaining water treatment systems.

* Knowledge of
* pumps, valves, filtration systems, chemical-feed equipment, piping, flow rates, and water-treatment processes*.

Experience conducting water sampling and basic water-quality testing.

Ability to read operating procedures, equipment manuals, gauges, meters, and technical documentation.

Strong understanding of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.

Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues.

Strong communication and recordkeeping skills.

Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on municipal, commercial, industrial, or government water-treatment facilities.

Experience with SCADA or automated monitoring/control systems.

Mechanical maintenance or troubleshooting experience.

Familiarity with water-treatment regulations and reporting requirements in the Washington, DC/DMV region.
