Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced and technically strong Technical Manager – Mechanical Engineering who can lead complex engineering projects while providing hands‑on technical direction and mentorship to a team of senior engineers.
The ideal candidate should be an all‑round mechanical engineering professional with strong expertise in mechanical design, concept development, engineering analysis, problem solving, project execution, and customer communication. The candidate should be comfortable independently managing multiple projects simultaneously and leading technically challenging programs from concept through completion.
This role requires a balance of technical depth, project ownership, leadership, communication, and business awareness.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and independently manage multiple mechanical engineering projects simultaneously, ensuring technical quality, schedule, cost, and customer expectations are met.
- Provide strong technical leadership in mechanical design, concept generation, product development, and engineering problem solving.
- Develop and review mechanical concepts, architectures, layouts, mechanisms, assemblies, and detailed designs.
- Perform and/or guide engineering analysis, design calculations, tolerance analysis, and design validation.
- Review engineering designs and provide technical direction to senior engineers and project teams.
- Lead a group of senior mechanical engineers, assigning work, reviewing technical outputs, and ensuring effective project execution.
- Act as the technical escalation point for complex engineering issues and provide practical solutions.
- Independently drive projects from requirements definition concept development detailed design analysis validation release.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, resource requirements, and project constraints and proactively address them.
- Conduct design reviews, technical discussions, project reviews, and customer presentations.
- Interact directly with customers, global engineering teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Translate customer requirements into clear technical solutions and engineering deliverables.
- Mentor and develop senior engineers and technical leads, helping build a strong engineering organization.
- Establish and promote good engineering practices, design standards, review processes, and quality expectations.
- Support estimation, technical proposals, resource planning, project planning, and effort/schedule forecasting.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet required quality, performance, reliability, manufacturability, and documentation standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, electrical, systems, software, quality, sourcing, and other cross‑functional teams.
- Continuously identify opportunities for improving engineering processes, productivity, quality, and technical capability.
