Civil Engineer US Embassy Baghdad, Iraq - Secret Clearance Required

Civil Engineer position for construction of the Power Plant Remediation Project (PPRP) at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. Requires a US Government Secret Security Clearance.

The PPRP is designed to address critical operational inefficiencies within the facility’s power generation rooms, including insufficient airflow and excessive heat buildup. The goal is to optimize air circulation, reduce thermal stress, enhance efficiency and sustainability, extend equipment lifespan, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

• Minimum commitment of 1 year; project duration 24–36 months.
• Post-Differential and Danger Pay.

• Provide NEC project with full range of critical engineering, construction quality assurance, and technical oversight.
• Perform technical inspections of mechanical work, monitor contractor quality control, and review project drawings for compliance.
• Observe onsite construction to verify proper installation and execution of elements.
• Monitor construction progress against schedule and submit weekly progress reports with recommendations based on technical reviews of documents and field inspections.

• US Government Secret Security Clearance or higher.
• US Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Current US Professional Engineer license may substitute for a degree.
• 7 years of construction experience.
• ABET‑accredited international degree accepted in lieu of US degree or PE.
