Position: ACCOUNTANT with Security Clearance
Duties
* At the GS-12/13 you will perform developmental duties as assigned. At the Full Performance Level (GS-12), you will perform the following:
* You will resolve problems, develop policies, determine accounting system adequacy and review legislation and regulations.
* You will coordinate and conduct review of financial management, accounting, cash management, procurement, financial reporting, record keeping, monitoring, audits and internal controls.
* You will maintain complex operation accounting systems which includes developing system improvements and providing program management problems.
* You will conduct financial analyses, fiscal reviews, and resolve accounting discrepancies in reported data. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Must be a US Citizen.
* Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
* Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

* Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* This is a Financial Management Level II certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26 Qualifications GS-12:
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience may include the following:
1. Knowledge of financial management and accounting principles, including GAAP, Federal regulations, and fiscal policies.
2. Ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data to support leadership decisions and identify trends, risks, and corrective actions.
3. Skill in evaluating automated and manual financial systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
4. Ability to problem-solve to assist in resolving multi-system accounting issues.
5. Strong written communication skills to develop clear guidance, procedures, and analytical reports for management and stakeholders.
6. Demonstrated accountability in financial reporting, ensuring integrity, reliability, and effectiveness of organizational financial operations. GS-13:
