Audit & Collections Analyst – Entry Level
Type: Contract to Hire
Pay: $20 – $25 / hour (conversion up to $60k)
Location: Rockville, MD (On-site 5 days/week; 2 WFH days after conversion)
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and PTO
Role Overview
We are seeking an Audit & Collections Analyst to join a growing, well-established client of ours. This entry-level role is perfect for candidates with 2–3+ years of collections experience who are highly detail-oriented, Excel-savvy, and interested in audit and accounting exposure. The department is currently restructuring, providing strong growth opportunities for promotion from within.
Key Responsibilities- Review collections data and audits for delinquencies
- Create and mail audit announcement and delinquency letters
- Gather documents and support auditors in completing audits
- Process completed audits, payments, and delinquency notices
- Review invoices for accuracy and track over payments
- Work with employers to resolve outstanding issues and negotiate repayment agreements
- Act as a representative with outside parties (attorneys, fund administrators, collection professionals)
- Maintain accurate tracking and reporting in the database
- Other duties as assigned
- 2–3+ years of collections experience
- Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)
- Accounting exposure or background
- Excellent attention to detail, punctuality, and team-oriented
- Ability to review data, identify issues, and troubleshoot
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Prior auditing or Taft-Hartley Trust Fund experience is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage complex issues while maintaining a cooperative demeanor
