Job Overview
Pen Fed is hiring a Financial Center Manager to work onsite at our DC VA Medical Center branch located in Washington, DC. The primary purpose of this job is to manage a Financial Center team of less than ten (10) full‑time employees or a single Financial Center. The incumbent will create a team environment and drive a member‑centric culture to improve members’ financial lives.
The position will develop the team(s) to provide an exceptional member experience, understand members’ needs, and ensure members are introduced to and provided with the most appropriate solutions to improve their financial lives. The incumbent will also be responsible for the day‑to‑day performance and overall management of the Financial Center.
- Manage and oversee daily operations of the Financial Center, including performance management, goal achievement, and teammate development.
- Collaborate effectively to achieve results; build and nurture strong relationships along the way.
- Display passion, commitment, and drive to deliver an experience that improves our clients’ financial lives.
- Identify solutions for members based on their needs and resolve problems independently or bring in others as needed.
- Communicate effectively and confidently and engage all members.
- Learn and adapt to new information and technology platforms.
- Apply strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills to meet members’ needs.
- Follow established processes and guidelines in daily activities to do what is right for members and the credit union, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Efficiently manage time and capacity, prioritize tasks, delegate, and execute in a fast‑paced environment.
- Interpret performance and operational results, find opportunities to drive success, and hold others accountable to results.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding Pen Fed products and services, including policies, procedures, and resources; assist the team with complex member needs, including explanation of loan decisions, and work with other departments to resolve issues.
- Maintain high expertise in running all internal Pen Fed systems or platforms, including but not limited to Sales Force, Pen Teller, Knowledge, Hogan, and inbound call networks.
- Actively network within fields of membership, including local community, military installations, and affiliated partners, to grow brand awareness.
- Provide support to other Financial Centers, including working weekends and/or extended hours as required to operate the business.
- Assist with any internal, external, or marketing initiatives that support the enhancement of our business.
- If authorized as a Notary Public, provide members with notary services while adhering to all state laws and regulations related to notarization of documents.
This role is responsible for ensuring business continuity.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Minimum of four (4) years of related work experience in a management capacity in a financial institution.
- Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience building, leading, managing, and coaching a team.
- Experience in financial services and knowledge of the financial services industry, products, and solutions.
- Experience in mortgage, retail, or hospitality.
- Experience working in an environment with individual and team goals, where goals were routinely met or exceeded.
- Valid Notary Public is preferred.
- Bilingual‑Spanish is preferred; for Puerto Rico locations, Bilingual‑Spanish is required.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position will directly supervise employees.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.
Travel:
Ability to travel to various worksites and be on‑call may be required.
Salary Pay Rate: $85,000 - $95,000
