Director of Accounting

Our Commercial Real Estate & Hospitality client is looking for a Director of Accounting
! This is a direct hire/full-time position. The Director of Accounting will provide oversight over the accounting operations for a portfolio of 21+ properties, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, including actuals, budgets, forecasts, and annual audits. This role reports to the Vice President and works closely with senior management, hotel ownership, and brand partners.

• Review and/or prepare accurate and timely financial statements.
• Manage the processing of accounts payable (including franchise fees) along with development and establishment of key performance indicators for team performance.
• Oversee the corporate accounting and internal control functions, which include, but are not limited to, transactions associated with cash, accounts receivable, payroll, and benefits.
• Oversee and manage property-level cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity and timely identification of cash needs or risks.
• Manage the activities of the corporate accounting team to ensure accurate financial information and appropriate support is provided to the hotel property accounting teams.
• Coordinate the Treasury Function to include banking and credit card administration and activities for the portfolio of properties.
• Assist accounting management team in the establishment, coordination and administration of internal control procedures/policies and support VP with updating the accounting policies and procedure manual.
• Assist with both internal and external audits to ensure complete, timely and accurate responses to information requests.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
• Ensure compliance and satisfaction of all government, company, franchise and ownership requirements.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
• Implement systems, tools, and best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.
• Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5-10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, within the hospitality Industry.
• Proven experience managing property-level financials, brand reporting, and third-party ownership relations.
• Strong understanding of hotel P&Ls, forecasting, and industry metrics (RevPAR, GOP, flow-through, etc.).
• Proficiency in hotel financial/accounting systems (e.g., M3, Opera, Micros, brand systems).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Strategic thinker with a strong operational mindset and ability to analyze results and provide solutions.
• Hands‑on leader comfortable working in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
• High integrity and discretion with financial and sensitive information.
