Description

Invictus Capital Partners is seeking a high-performing Investment Analyst / Associate to join our investment team as part of a centralized analyst team supporting work across portfolio construction, securitization, capital markets, and fund management. This role sits at the center of how we evaluate risk, deploy capital, and communicate our strategies across residential whole loans, structured credit, and non-agency markets.

We are looking for someone who is technically strong, intellectually curious, and energized by variety. The right candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment and is excited by the opportunity to work across teams, tackle complex analytical problems, and build a well-rounded foundation in residential credit and structured finance. This role is ideal for someone who can build a model in the morning, pressure-test an assumption in the afternoon, and help translate analytics into clear insights by the end of the day.

You should bring intensity, curiosity, and the discipline to deliver accurate, thoughtful work on time. If you thrive in a culture built on teamwork and continuous improvement, you will excel here.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze loan-level, portfolio-level, and market data to support investment decisions across residential whole loans, structured credit, and non-agency securities.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance financial models, quantitative tools, and data infrastructure used by multiple investment teams.
  • Support portfolio construction, securitization, capital markets, and fund-level initiatives through project-based analytical work.
  • Conduct cash-flow modeling, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing to inform pricing, risk management, and strategic decisions.
  • Assist with fund-level reporting, including performance metrics, liquidity analysis, and asset-level insights that support investor communications.
  • Create clear, actionable materials—presentations, memos, dashboards, and reports—that translate complex analytics into decision-ready insights.
  • Collaborate closely with senior investors, portfolio managers, capital markets, risk, technology, and operations teams.
  • Support ad hoc analytical requests from senior leadership while managing multiple priorities with discipline and attention to detail.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 1+ years of experience in structured finance, investment banking, asset-based credit, mortgage analytics, or a related analytical role.
  • Strong technical foundation, including advanced Excel and SQL; experience with Python or similar analytical tools is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of financial modeling, cash-flow analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Exposure to whole-loan analytics, securitization concepts, structured products (ABS/MBS/RMBS), or non-agency markets is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to distill large, complex datasets into insights that inform investment and risk decisions.
  • Clear, confident communication skills and comfort engaging with senior stakeholders.
  • A mindset defined by ownership and follow-through—you move quickly, take accountability, and produce high-quality work.
  • Strong cultural alignment: team-oriented, solutions-driven, detail-focused, and committed to continuous improvement.
Key Competencies
  • Investment & Credit Analytics: Analyzes loan-level, portfolio-level, and market data to support capital deployment, pricing, and risk decisions across residential credit and structured products.
  • Financial Modeling & Quantitative

    Skills:

Builds and enhances cash-flow models, scenario analyses, and analytical tools that support portfolio construction, securitization, and fund management.
  • Data Fluency & Insight Generation: Translates large, complex datasets into clear, decision-ready insights for senior investors and stakeholders.
