Assistant Controller

Our client is seeking an Assistant Controller to join their team. This is a full-time / permanent opportunity with a direct client of Aprio.

This position is with a large nonprofit ($130M+ annual revenue). The responsibilities suit either a Controller from a smaller nonprofit or an Assistant Controller from a larger nonprofit such as this.

• Leadership role overseeing GL, financial reporting, and audit coordination
• Manage and mentor a small accounting team while working directly with executive leadership
• High-visibility role with ownership across multiple entities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
• Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Manage audit and tax processes with external partners
• Supervise staff accountants and oversee outsourced accounting support
• Manage cash activity, banking relationships, and internal controls
• Support consolidated financial reporting and compliance

• 12+ years of accounting experience
• Experience managing financial reporting and audits
• Leadership experience overseeing accounting staff

• Experience in multi-entity environments
• Experience with Dynamics, Salesforce, or similar ERP systems
