Job Description CSCI Consulting is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions, with a heavy emphasis on transaction-based entry and federal government payment systems. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and is eager to apply analytical skills to complex reconciliation tasks.
Responsibilities
* Transaction Management:
Perform high-volume transaction entry for AR and AP workflows, ensuring 100% accuracy and compliance with federal guidelines.
* Federal Systems:
Utilize the Intra-Governmental Payment and Collection (IPAC) system to process transfers and reconcile inter-agency transactions.
* Account Reconciliation:
Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
* Financial Analysis:
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and perform basic variance analysis to support management decision-making.
* Audit Support:
Maintain organized financial records and documentation to support internal and external audits related to USMS operations.
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree
* 4 + years relevant experience and demonstrated knowledge of accounting, account reconciliation, and financial analysis
* Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
* 1 + years of experience supporting federal or DoW project
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Familiarity with Momentum-based systems, particularity Unified Financial Management System (USFS) and Treasury Secure Payment System
* Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
* Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
* Strong organizational and time-management skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
* Strong customer and vendor relationship skills
* Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies
