The internship is expected to begin June 2026 and will run through August 2026. This is an hourly position working up to 25 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with preparation of audit work papers and journal entries for various accounts including: payroll accruals, benefit allocations, travel-related accounts, and internal chargebacks.
- Assists with bank reconciliations.
- Assists with account reconciliations.
- Assists with accounts receivable.
- Creates and enters general ledger journal entries.
- Assists with the preparation of board-related financial reports.
- Assists with the implementation of the board-approved budget through the Bar's BI software.
- Assists with the monthly variance analysis reporting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Year 1 college-level accounting or finance coursework.
- Basic excel skill level.
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Must work well in a team environment and be able to interact, including in-person, with Bar members, volunteers, vendors, the public and Bar employees.
- Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
- Year 2+ college-level accounting or finance coursework.
- Intermediate excel skill level.
- Experience with Microsoft suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with business intelligence software.
* This position is currently a hybrid position, with days worked in the office and days worked remotely. The hybrid status of this position may change at any time subject to the Bar's discretion.
