Interim CFO — Exit Readiness (Strategic or PE Sale) for Government Sector

Seeking an fractional (possibly interim) CFO who can step in immediately and drive exit readiness—stabilizing the finance function, elevating reporting and forecasting, and leading the company through preparation for a strategic or private equity sale.

This is a hands-on mandate: own cash and liquidity, tighten close and controls, build a weekly operating cadence, and translate the value-creation plan into board- and buyer-ready metrics. Lead diligence execution and ensure the story, numbers, and materials are aligned.

• Proven CFO (or senior finance lead) experience preparing a company for an exit (strategic and/or PE sale)
• Must be able to work directly with investment bankers: build the data room, support the CIM / management presentation process, respond to buyer Q&A, and run the diligence work streams
• Strong cash management, working capital control, and forecasting discipline; can implement a weekly cash + KPI cadence quickly
• Enterprise-grade reporting and KPIs; board-ready communication with crisp variance narratives and high data integrity
• Experience supporting QofE and coordinating auditors, legal, and other advisors; comfortable under tight timelines
• Can start immediately with minimal ramp and lead a team through change with clear accountability
