A Washington DC-based private equity firm is seeking a Investment Associate to join its dynamic team. The firm specializes in lower-middle market investments across a diverse range of industries. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a lean, highly acquisitive team, offering early and significant responsibility, hands-on deal experience, and exposure to all aspects of the investment process.

• Execution of broader market and industry research
• Financial modeling, valuation analysis, and returns analysis for various investment targets
• Analyze fund performance, portfolio construction, and underlying company metrics
• Support fundraising activities and broader firm initiatives

• 1-3 years of experience evaluating venture capital and/or growth equity fund
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field
• Strong interest in venture sectors such as software, fintech, healthcare, frontier technologies, blockchain, and AI
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distill complex concepts into clear investment insights
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and sound investment judgment
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power Point
• Familiarity with AI tools used in research and analysis (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity)
• Experience with Python, SQL, or similar tools is a plus
• For Associate-level candidates: proven ability to lead investment processes with limited supervision and strong relationship-building skills
