NAVSEA Mid-Level Financial Analyst
Zimmerman Associates, Inc. (ZAI) is seeking a Mid-Level Financial Analyst to support our Team Submarine Customers. This support includes performing a variety of financial, administrative, and program management tasks including analyzing budgetary information; tracking expenditures; and creating, editing, and proof‑reading documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. The candidate we seek will have familiarity with Team Submarine policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:- Provide financial management support to Team Submarine.
- Analyze projected expenditures and identify budgetary shortfalls.
- Prepare financial management data, listings, reports, and metrics regarding the status of funds.
- Advise government customers on any changes, including developments or revisions of financial management policies or programs.
- Perform cost‑benefit analysis to recommend, defend, or justify funding decisions.
- Monitor accounting, budget execution, and financial management reports to ensure financial integrity, timelines, accuracy, and validity.
- Review and assess workbooks and databases to identify shortcomings and opportunities for improvement, enhancing efficiency, ensuring more accurate data, and optimizing calculations.
- Organize and participate in meetings for senior management to help coordinate and establish financial and programmatic plans.
- Other financial, programmatic, and administrative tasks as assigned in support of Team Submarine.
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance – preference will be given to Active Secret Security Clearance Holders
- Must be available to work on‑site at the Washington Navy Yard
- A Bachelor's or Advanced degree in a business or technical field.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
- Must have knowledge of Navy/NAVSEA/submarine financial management systems.
- Must demonstrate experience in operations research analysis or financial/cost analysis for U.S. Navy Programs.
- Must understand POM process;
Task Planning Sheets;
Navy Enterprise Resource Planning. - Must be able to manipulate / analyze data and create clear Power Point Presentations to communicate the results.
- Must demonstrate experience importing and manipulating data and developing summary reports in Microsoft Excel, or similar spreadsheet application.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
- High comfort level working with and around all military/organizational levels, clients, customers, suppliers, and visitors.
- Must be highly reliable and demonstrate personal initiative to operate in a fast‑paced environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and professional discretion.
In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $90,000 – $110,000. ZAI considers several factors when extending an offer, including role responsibilities, candidate experience, education/training, and key skills.
