In support of a new transformative business model “Originate to Share” our shareholders recently approved a $3.5 billion capitalization. This will allow IDB Invest to significantly scale up its investments, to approximately $19 billion, and unlocking greater private sector participation to drive development and climate impact across the region.

IDB Invest is seeking an experienced finance professional with a track record in local currency risk management. In this role, you will be responsible for pricing and executing local currency and interest rate derivatives, credit lines, and bond transactions (denominated in various currencies) in accordance with policy and guidelines, contributing to our commitment to scale operations in alignment with IDB Invest’s Impact+ mandate.

You will be part of the Treasury Division within the Finance and Administration Department and report to the Head of Local Funding Solutions. The Treasury Division is responsible for the execution of IDB Invest’s borrowing, hedging, trading, and cash management activities, as well as the ALM of IDB Invest’s overall balance sheet. Treasury is composed of four different units:
Funding, Investments, Local Funding Solutions, and ALM.

• Recommend optimal funding structures based on local markets conditions and available financial products.
• Coordinate with Finance, Legal, Risk, and Investment Operations teams to design innovative funding solutions.
• Analyze, price, negotiate, execute and record debt capital markets and derivatives transactions for funding development related assets.
• Monitor regional capital-markets developments; prepare assessments, reports and maintain interest-rate/FX swap toolkits.
• Evaluate counter party credit risk and obtain necessary approvals for trading with banks and non-rated entities.
• Collaborate on the development and deployment of quantitative models and analytical tools for Treasury.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with internal teams, banks, counter parties and other external partners.
• Serve as subject-matter expert in testing and implementing Treasury systems and process enhancements. Identify technology, infrastructure, and process gaps, as well as recommend actions to minimize operational risks.
• Contribute to team development, cultivating an inclusive, high-performance culture that promotes innovation, continuous learning, and shared accountability.

Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, Engineering, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role, with knowledge of financial markets and products. Relevant professional certifications are a plus.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in local currency risk management. Candidates should demonstrate strong technical expertise and a solid track record in structuring fixed income and/or structured products with a focus on emerging markets.
