Policy Research and Coordination Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Policy Research and Coordination Specialist to support high-priority policy planning and oversight efforts. This role provides senior-level analytical, coordination, and advisory support to DoD stakeholders and interagency partners. The ideal candidate brings deep policy expertise, strong writing and briefing skills, and hands‑on experience operating in complex national security environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide policy research, analysis, and coordination support for planning efforts, ensuring timely and accurate integration of U.S. Government priorities and concerns.
  • Synthesize data and analysis from the Intelligence Community to support decision‑making.
  • Prepare, develop, review, and staff decision papers, plans, briefings, and correspondence for senior DoD leadership.
  • Support by delivering program analysis, senior‑level policy guidance, and coordination with Defense Agencies.
  • Develop and support internal and external policy and management controls, with an emphasis on compliance across critical programs.
  • Review analytical documents and plans, assess policy and program impacts, identify risks or gaps, and recommend alternative courses of action.
  • Develop written assessments and executive‑level briefings summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Provide expert policy and oversight advice to senior leaders.
  • Deliver day‑to‑day policy analysis and subject matter expertise in support of sensitive and special operations.
  • Collect, track, analyze, and brief on special operations activities, ensuring coordination with policy, legal, and operational stakeholders.
  • Offer experience‑based operational perspective to senior decision makers while maintaining alignment across interagency partners.

Required Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain TS/SCI
  • Demonstrated experience in DoD, OSD, Joint Staff, and/or interagency planning and coordination.
  • Proven ability to support senior‑level policy development, analysis, and execution.
  • Strong experience preparing decision papers, plans, and executive‑level briefings.
  • Background in intelligence, sensitive operations, or special operations policy support.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in fast‑paced, high‑visibility environments with senior government leaders.
  • Prior experience supporting the DoD or related intelligence and policy organizations.
  • Experience providing oversight and compliance support for complex government programs.
  • Familiarity with classified, sensitive, and compartmented operational environments.
