ABOUTTHE ROLE
The Director, Government and Public Affairs will lead and execute Amrize’s integrated government affairs and public policy strategy across the United States.
This role is responsible for shaping and advancing policy positions related to infrastructure, trade, manufacturing competitiveness, climate and ESG regulation, procurement policy, and industrial development. The Director will represent Amrize before federal and state officials, while partnering internally with Legal, Operations, Sustainability, Communications, and Commercial teams.
The position combines high-level strategic advocacy with hands-on regulatory engagement and issue management.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH Policy Strategy & AdvocacyDevelop and implement Amrize’s government affairs strategy aligned with business priorities.
Lead advocacy efforts related to:o Infrastructure reauthorization and transportation fundingo Buy America / Buy Clean procurement framework so Trade and tariff matters impacting domestic cement and building material so Industrial decarbonization and climate regulationo Housing and industrial development policy
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide strategic guidance to senior leadership.
Represent Amrize before Members of Congress, federal agencies (DOT, EPA, DOE, DOC, USTR), and state/provincial governments.
Support permitting, compliance, and regulatory matters in coordination with Legal, Environment, and Operations.
Manage external lobbying consultants and advisors.
Support PAC strategy and political engagement efforts in compliance with applicable laws.
Drive advocacy positions within trade associations and industry coalitions.
Analyze emerging environmental regulations and assess business impact.
Partner with Legal and Sustainability teams to align advocacy and compliance strategy.
Conduct policy risk assessments and recommend mitigation approaches.
Ensure policy positioning supports Amrize’s sustainability and operational goals.
Coordinate closely with:o Operations & Manufacturingo Legal & Complianceo Sustainability / ESGo Communications & Public Affairso Commercial leadership
Align external messaging with operational realities and corporate strategy.
Support consistent advocacy messaging across product lines.
Mentor and support members of the Government & Public Affairs team.
Contribute to department budgeting and performance metrics.
