Duties- Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of all Bureau and Department programs, activities, and related policies. Staying informed of operational needs and potential issues of political sensitivity or urgent congressional interest.
- Conducting special briefings for congressional leaders, committees, and staff, presenting oral, statistical, and narrative information. Responding to inquiries and discusses matters with senior management and liaison officers to support legislative needs.
- Preparing or coordinating the preparation of reports and supporting data to provide logical justification to Congress, advocating for Bureau and Department goals. Making recommendations for organizational or operational changes based on congressional interests.
- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with congressional staff, facilitating the exchange of information. Appraises program progress and external relationships and works to strengthen congressional support for the agency.
- Ensuring congressional members and staff receive clear analysis and interpretation of new and revised programs. Presents factual information and motivates stakeholders to understand and accept agency limitations and options.

GS-11 Grade LevelYou qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience- One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
- Assisting in monitoring and identifying issues of a politically sensitive nature or areas of special or urgent interest to organizational leadership.
- Supporting the preparation and delivery of oral briefings, including presenting basic statistical or narrative information to internal or external audiences.
- Assisting in composing responses to inquiries and preparing reports based on studies or established guidelines.
- Contributing to discussions with management regarding program activities and providing input on organizational or operational changes in response to stakeholder interests.
3 full years of progressively higher‑level graduate education leading to such a degree.
