Patient Administration Specialist (On-site)

Location: Georgetown, Washington, DC

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Placement Type: Contract-to-Hire

Overview

A high-volume medical facility in the DC area is seeking a sharp, organized, and customer-service-oriented Patient Administration Specialist to support a busy clinical environment. This role is well-suited for experienced patient access professionals as well as recent graduates with a major or minor in Healthcare Administration who are eager to grow within a large healthcare system. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate scheduling, strong communication with providers, and high-quality administrative support for both patients and physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support for a fast-paced clinic.
  • Manage physician calendars, with primary focus on patient scheduling.
  • Deliver professional and empathetic interactions with patients both in person and over the phone.
  • Answer high-volume phone lines, including a rotating line shared across multiple providers.
  • Perform patient scheduling, follow‑up appointment coordination, and general front desk duties.
  • Assist with registration, check‑in, co‑pay collection, and insurance‑related tasks.
  • Support surgical coordination tasks, including:
  • Procedure authorizations
  • Coordination with providers
  • Sending documentation
  • Assisting with surgical scheduling when needed
  • Provide general administrative and front‑desk support for clinic operations.
Required Skills
  • Experience with Epic or similar EMR/EHR systems.
  • Appointment scheduling.
  • Patient registration.
  • Co‑pay collection.
  • Strong customer service in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
Preferred Skills
  • Surgical scheduling experience.
  • Insurance authorizations.
  • EPIC inpatient exposure.
  • Data entry.
  • General healthcare administration knowledge.

Pay and Benefits

Pay range: $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
