American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an EP Lab position requiring a DC RN license and a minimum of 2 years of EP circulating and documenting experience.
Job Details
• Hospital-based Electrophysiology (EP) Lab setting,
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:00),
• Up to 3 late stays may be assigned per six-week schedule,
• Patient ratio of 1:3,
• No float requirement,
• Charting systems include Cardio Lab and Medconnect,
• EP procedures performed include cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, arrhythmia induction, pacemaker insertion, AICD insertion/programming, LAA closure, conduction studies, tilt table studies, and baseline measurements,
• Medications include antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, thrombolytics, emergency medications, procedural sedation, and reversal agents,
• IV therapy responsibilities include central line assistance and IV insertion/maintenance,
Job Requirements
• Active DC RN license required; a pending DC license is accepted but must be obtained prior to start date, with proof of application required at time of consideration,
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience with EP lab circulating and documenting, telemetry, and dysrhythmia interpretation,
• Experience with Zoll and Life Pak equipment required,
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and 100% on lethal rhythms,
• Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers may be screened on a case-by-case basis,
• Teaching hospital experience preferred,
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred,
• Two supervisor references from within the past 2 years required,
• Flu vaccine required,
Additional Information
• Responsibilities include circulating EP procedures, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, and IV therapy,
• Candidates who previously worked for Med Star must have been separated for a minimum of one year before returning as a traveler,
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; local candidates are accepted but at a different rate,
• No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract, and all RTO must be submitted at the time of consideration,
• On-campus parking is available, eliminating the need for a shuttle after late shifts,
