Med Star Medical Group Radiology practice is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our growing Diagnostic Radiology practice.
The Diagnostic Radiology Physician Assistant supports radiologists by providing clinical care and imaging-related services that optimize patient safety, workflow efficiency, and imaging quality. The position will primarily support neuroradiology services while maintaining flexibility to assist across diagnostic radiology sections as needed.
Schedule:
4 - 10-hour days. No call. No weekends.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures (e.g., lumbar puncture, myelography, spine/joint interventions, head & neck biopsies); training and supervision provided by attending radiologists.
- Assist with Fluoroscopy procedures (e.g., modified barium swallows, UGI, barium enema, HSG); training and supervision provided by attending radiologists.
- Review clinical data, prior imaging, and labs before studies and procedures.
- Obtain patient histories and perform exam focused clinical assessments.
- Obtain informed consent and provide pre- and post-procedure patient education.
- Protocol MR and CT examinations.
- Provide MR device and implant safety support, including patient screening and device shutoff.
- Administer and monitor CT perfusion and other contrast injections per protocol.
- Recognize and manage contrast reactions in accordance with institutional guidelines.
- Monitor patients and manage post-procedure care. Occasionally, see patients in clinic for pre- and post-procedural care.
- Document encounters and procedures in the EMR.
- Communicate effectively with referring providers, technologists, and nursing staff.
