The LIS Technical Coordinator will serve as a departmental resource dedicated to building, testing, documenting and the conversion of designated LIS systems. The LIS Technical Coordinator will serve as a liaison between laboratory medicine and Information Resources. As solution experts, the LIS Technical Coordinator will perform LIS computer maintenance and integrations, monitors LIS systems, review logs, and maintains equipment. The LIS Technical Coordinator will assist in the development of policies and procedures, identify and elevate issues as appropriate and assist in end‑user training.
Assignments will include being an active member of "Go Live Teams" including after hours call as assigned when necessary.
Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's in Medical Technology or equivalent related field of science. Previous LIS experience a plus. (Required)
Minimum Work Experience2 years At least 2‑3 years experience in an accredited clinical laboratory required. Supervisory or progressive experience in healthcare preferred.
Required Skills/KnowledgeStatistics preferred. Good interpersonal and communication skills important. Knowledge and skills related to LIS desirable. Demonstrates strategic thinking. Ability to multi‑task and requires organizational skills.
Additional Requirementsmust successfully complete the CNMC Trustworthiness and Reliability assessment, including fingerprinting, as a requirement of the position
Required Licenses And CertificationsRegistry or eligible as MT(ASCP) preferred.
Functional Accountabilities Project Management- Build and test applications as assigned; ensure critical milestones are met.
- Assist in the development of ongoing maintenance requirements.
- Ensure communication with departmental/function/section impacted with solutions as well as LIS Manager or designee.
- Maintain documentation of current project status and provide updates when requested.
- Assess and define educational needs of end‑users and assist with training end‑users.
- Complete tasks.
- Monitor of LIS systems DAILY, as assigned;
- Document and communicate identified issues to LIS Manager or designee.
- Investigate information system problems and/or issues and use problem solving skills to provide resolution.
- Develop strategies to promote performance improvement.
- Serve as a liason between areas of the institution and the Department of Laboratory Medicine; perform functions for the specific section; identify, evaluate and resolve technical and patient related problems; participate in departmental/hospital committees as required.

- Serve as a resource for end‑users.
