Program
Description:
The River School is an independent school serving deaf and hard of hearing children and their typically developing hearing peers in an inclusive environment, from birth through Grade 5. The River School’s inclusive program challenges each child to work collaboratively, to think critically, and to develop the confidence to take risks, embrace their curiosity, and find their voice.
Primary Responsibilities:- to design and implement thematic curriculum areas,
- to ensure that students master the goals and objectives of the curriculum,
- to document the progress of all students in all developmental domains,
- to collaborate with the educator to support the acquisition of spoken language skills in the students using a transdisciplinary model,
- to participate in clinical research projects relating to outcomes in children with hearing loss,
- to share expertise from the field of speech-language pathology with other staff members
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- State licensure and certification required
- COVID and flu vaccine required
- Ability to work in a team-teaching environment
- Ability to work creatively and in a self-directed manner
- Resourceful, flexible, and service-oriented
