Compensation: $210,000 – $235,000 annual OTE, DOE

About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a Vice President of Human Resources on behalf of a mission-focused organization in Washington, DC. This organization requires a strategic HR leader who can support a dynamic, professional workforce.
Position Overview:
The Vice President of Human Resources is a senior executive responsible for leading enterprise-wide HR strategy and ensuring alignment between talent initiatives and organizational objectives. This role partners closely with executive leadership to drive workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and culture.
The VP will oversee all core HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and total rewards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with executive leadership on organizational structure, succession planning, and workforce strategy.
- Provide guidance on employee engagement, culture, and change management.
- Oversee recruitment, performance management, and leadership development initiatives.
- Direct HR operations, including employee relations, policy development, compliance, and systems optimization.
- Lead compensation and benefits strategy to ensure market competitiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (advanced certification preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including experience managing teams.
- Prior experience within a structured, professional, mission-driven, association, nonprofit, or similarly complex organization is strongly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of talent management, employee relations, compliance, and total rewards.
- Demonstrated ability to advise senior executives and influence organizational strategy.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
