Part‑Time Payroll Coordinator (Remote in the DMV)

Hours: 20 hours/week

Schedule: Semi‑monthly payroll cycle

Timeline: 6+ months

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a detail‑oriented Payroll Coordinator to support semi‑monthly payroll processing across multiple states. This is a part‑time and temporary role ideal for a payroll professional who enjoys flexibility, autonomy, and accuracy‑driven work. You’ll play a key role in ensuring compliant, timely payroll execution while partnering closely with HR and Finance teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate entry and maintenance of employee payroll data
  • Audit timesheets, deductions, wage changes, and tax adjustments
  • Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and compliance checks
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
  • Collaborate with HR on onboarding/offboarding payroll tasks
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold payroll compliance standards
Qualifications
  • 2+ years payroll experience
  • Paycom experience preferred
  • Multi‑state payroll knowledge (taxes, wage laws, compliance)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of discretion
  • Part time: 20 hours per week
  • Remote role — flexibility within business hours within east coast
  • Must have reliable internet and the ability to work securely from home
