Legal Personnel Coordinator (Washington, DC)

A leading national law firm with a collaborative, boutique‑style culture is seeking a Legal Personnel Coordinator for its Washington, DC office
. Reporting to senior Directors, this role supports firmwide inclusion initiatives, engagement programming, attorney personnel processes, and community‑building efforts across offices.

Responsibilities
  • Support the firm’s affinity groups, including assisting with affinity‑driven events and programs.
  • Assist with initiatives, programs, and events promoting attorney and employee engagement.
  • Support efforts to attract, retain, and develop an inclusive workforce, with emphasis on law school recruiting, lateral associate hiring, and mentoring initiatives.
  • Coordinate measurement and analysis of inclusion- and engagement‑related initiatives; assist with RFPs, benchmarking surveys, and preparation of related statistical reporting.
  • Assist with internal programs designed to build community and foster inclusion (e.g., heritage month celebrations, speaker series, lunch‑and‑learns, book clubs).
  • Prepare committee agendas and reports, circulate summaries and minutes, and support committee operations.
  • Update and maintain the firm’s intranet and collaboration pages, including event calendars, internal articles, and related materials.
  • Coordinate firm memberships and sponsor ships with external organizations; collaborate with Marketing on advertisements and events.
  • Assist with firm scholarship administration, including application management and maintaining related content for web and social platforms.
  • Assist with onboarding, program planning, and day‑to‑day supervision of HR interns.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues on firmwide inclusion and engagement initiatives; support programs across all offices.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to Legal Personnel teams on various assignments.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; 3–5 years of experience in a law firm or professional services setting strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with online platforms, databases, and intranet tools highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • High degree of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, balancing short‑and long‑term priorities.
  • Proactive communication style with strong client‑service orientation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
