Position Summary:

The Vice President (VP) of Human Resources is responsible for leading the HR functions of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM). Working closely with senior leadership, the VP will be the strategic partner ensuring the appropriate alignment of the NAM's human capital with the business goals and strategic objectives of the organization, balancing both business realities and the needs of employees.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Align overall HR strategy to support the NAM's strategic business plans
  • Lead the strategic direction and execution of performance management, including driving the entire appraisal lifecycle, coaching managers on constructive feedback and career development
  • Develop progressive approaches to the NAM's total compensation program, including employee benefits, base pay, incentives, bonuses, and non-cash rewards. Link rewards to appropriate performance management targets
  • Analyze, design, and implement cost-effective employee benefits, including health and wellness programs. Manage related vendor relationships as well as internal and external communication while working closely with our legal team to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws (e.g., ACA, ERISA, HIPAA), managing audits and filings
  • Engage in ongoing organizational development by developing strategies that align with the overall company mission, growth initiatives, and long-term goals
  • Partner with executive leadership on organizational structure and work closely with the Director, Human Resources, on talent acquisition and future workforce forecasting
  • Ensure that the NAM is following all Federal, state, and local laws/regulations as they relate to employment, operations, benefits & retirement plans, and employee health and safety
  • Benchmark with other organizations on the entire suite of HR programs and processes and make changes as appropriate. Stay current on trends in the HR field and in business
  • Oversee the Human Resources team and manage departmental budget, including approving expenses associated with HR operations
  • Work closely with the Director, HR, and the legal team in managing all aspects of employee relations, including investigations, disciplinary actions and terminations, with discretion

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in HR
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of legislation/regulations related to Human Resources programs
  • Previous experience leading and managing functional areas of HR, including recruitment, HRIS, compensation, benefits, employee relations, training & development, policies & procedures, and employee communications;
  • Must have experience successfully managing people and programs;
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills are required, with a demonstrated aptitude for public speaking;
  • Strong project management and organizational skills;
  • Strong interpersonal relations, strong team player and team leader;
    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, quality, and goal-driven work environment.
Salary Range: $152,000 - $180,000 annually. This salary range represents a good-faith estimate of the lowest to the highest salary for this position. The final salary offered will be based on qualifications and experience.
