Power BI Data Architect

Overview

Experience looking in modeled data - lakehouse architecture, medallion architecture, modern services, Fabric, Databrick. Can work on C2C/W2.

• Architect and develop scalable data models and datasets for Power BI self-service analytics.
• Work extensively with Azure Databricks Lakehouse to integrate and prepare large, complex datasets.
• Implement data governance and security controls using Unity Catalog.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand analytical needs and translate them into effective BI solutions.
• Ensure high performance of Power BI reports through best practices in data modeling and query optimization.
• Define standards and guidelines for Power BI development across the organization.
• Lead efforts in metadata management, data lineage tracking, and quality assurance.
• Mentor junior data engineers and BI developers.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in BI architecture and data engineering. 12+ years of overall IT experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks Lakehouse and Unity Catalog.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and analytics architecture.
• Proven experience creating and managing large-scale self-service data sets for diverse business users.
• Experience with CI/CD, Data Ops practices.
