Position: Government Information Specialist (Privacy Compliance)

Duties

As a Government Information Specialist (Privacy Compliance), GS-11 you will perform the following duties:

  • Prepares, reviews, and ensures accuracy of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Privacy Threshold Analyses (PTAs), and other documentation in line with regulatory requirements under senior privacy guidelines.
  • Reviews systems, initiatives, and information‑sharing arrangements for privacy issues, evaluates options, and provides risk‑based recommendations for senior review.
  • Acts as a point of contact for routine Privacy Act inquiries, assists with Personally Identifiable Information (PII) disclosures and amendments, evaluates forms, drafts privacy notices, and manages privacy incidents and complaints.
  • Drafts and refines ICE privacy webpage content and communications; prepares correspondence, briefings, and summaries for leadership; coordinates meetings and manages administrative activities related to travel and program logistics.

    This is a full‑time permanent position (Career/Career‑Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one‑year probationary period.

You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one of the following:

  • Experience:

    One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
    • Applying privacy laws, guidance, and organizational policies when supporting programs, information systems, or information‑sharing activities.
    • Preparing, reviewing, or updating privacy documents used to evaluate how personal information is collected, used, shared or stored.
    • Identifying and reviewing privacy risks related to the collection, use, maintenance, or sharing of personal information, and assisting with steps to reduce those risks.
    • Providing guidance or support to staff on privacy requirements and proper handling and protection of personal information.
    • Helping tack and coordinate privacy‑related matters, such as incidents, complaints, or questions, and assisting with information used for reports or briefings.
  • OR
  • Education:

    Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher‑level graduate education, or an LL.M. degree.
  • OR
  • Combination of

    Education and Experience:
