* Vision insurance Responsibilities:
* Serve as the lead Database Administrator for a major Navy database modernization initiative.
* Overhaul existing database systems and support the consolidation into a single, streamlined architecture.
* Administer and optimize cloud-based database environments in alignment with Navy standards and security requirements.
* Work extensively with Advana/Jupyter, Databricks, and related data engineering toolsets.
* Support scripting, automation, and data workflows using Python.
* Collaborate within an Agile team, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and iterative delivery.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior database and data engineering staff.
* Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with DoD requirements.
* Troubleshoot complex data and system issues and implement sustainable resolutions.

Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Management or related field.
* 10+ years of experience in Database Administration.
* Proven experience as a Database Administrator or Data Engineering focused DBA.
* Experience with cloud-based database administration (AWS, Azure, or related platforms).
* Hands-on experience with Advana/Jupyter and Databricks.
* Strong skills in database optimization, performance tuning, backup/restore, and data lifecycle management.
* Proficiency with Python for database management, scripting, and automation.
* Experience working within Agile teams or Dev Sec Ops  environments.
* Ability to lead technical work streams and collaborate across a multi-disciplinary team.
* Security+ certification or other DoD 8570-compliant credential.
* Prior experience supporting Navy or DoD programs.
* Experience consolidating or migrating large-scale enterprise databases.
