Cloud Architect

Overview

This position is contingent on a future opening with Gunnison.

Salary: $170,000 - $190,000/year

• Cloud Architecture Design:
  Design and implement cloud architecture solutions that meet the organization’s needs for scalability, reliability, and security.
• Develop and document cloud strategies, including cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring.
• Cloud Infrastructure Management:
  Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring it meets performance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Cloud Migration:
  Oversee cloud migration initiatives, including planning, execution, and validation.
• Security and Compliance:
  Implement and manage cloud security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits of cloud infrastructure.
• Collaboration and Support:
  Collaborate with IT staff, data analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide cloud-based solutions; provide technical guidance and support for cloud-related issues and projects.
• Performance Optimization:
  Monitor and optimize cloud performance, including resource allocation, cost management, and system performance tuning; implement and manage cloud monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance and availability.

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years focused on cloud architecture and cloud-based solutions.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Experience with cloud migration projects and cloud infrastructure management.
• Experience with Dev Ops practices and tools.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Power Shell) for automation.
• Certification in relevant cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
• Master s Degree in related field or commensurate experience (+6 years OR Bachelor s Degree+2 years additional experience).

• Proficiency in cloud architecture design and implementation.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS Cloud Formation.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.

The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual s knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
