OutSystems Architect - Manager

About the role

As a Out Systems Architect, you will make an impact by designing scalable, secure, and high‑performance low‑code applications that enable business transformation across the organization. You will be a valued member of the Digital Engineering team, collaborating closely with developers, architects, and cross‑functional stakeholders to define technical strategy, guide solution design, and ensure successful delivery across the full development lifecycle.

• Lead the design and architecture of enterprise‑grade, modular Out Systems applications, ensuring scalability, security, and high performance.
• Define technical, integration, and data strategies while overseeing the full development lifecycle and adherence to best practices.
• Design, configure, and maintain Out Systems environments—development, staging, and production—using Life Time and Service Center.
• Implement robust integration strategies with external systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SQL) using REST, SOAP, and custom connectors.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize database queries, and ensure applications meet required security and scalability standards.
• Enforce code quality, conduct code reviews, and mentor development teams on Out Systems and modern web/mobile development best practices.

• Strong experience designing and delivering solutions on the Out Systems low‑code platform.
• Proficiency with Service Studio, Integration Studio, and core Out Systems platform capabilities.
• Solid understanding of SQL, .NET/C#, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience designing enterprise‑level application architectures and integration approaches.
• Ability to configure, deploy, and maintain Out Systems environments using Life Time and Service Center.
• Hands‑on experience optimizing performance, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring secure and scalable solutions.

• Experience mentoring and guiding development teams in an architect or lead capacity.
• Background integrating Out Systems with ERP and enterprise platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or SQL-based systems.
• Strong understanding of security, scalability, and maintainability principles for low‑code solutions.
• Familiarity with best practices for code quality, modern development standards, and Dev Ops tooling for Out Systems.

The annual salary for this position is between $112,500- $132,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
