Interoperability Technical Management Lead
Emerging Tech is seeking an Interoperability Technical Management Lead to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. This role provides technical leadership and oversight for interoperability planning, vendor coordination, and cross-agency integration activities supporting joint Department of Defense (DoD) and VA electronic health record deployments.
The Interoperability Technical Management Lead collaborates with federal partners, system integrators, and technical stakeholders to ensure interoperability platforms, integration strategies, and deployment activities are aligned with technical requirements, schedules, and program objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform technical review of EHRM interoperability schedules and plans aligned with deployment of interoperability systems and platforms supporting EHR rollouts across VA facilities
- Provide oversight of vendor interoperability activities supporting joint EHRM and DoD Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) deployments
- Support development, refinement, and compliance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for joint interoperability releases
- Analyze, formulate, review, and recommend technical and programmatic decisions to client leadership
- Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks related to interoperability platforms, integration capabilities, and data exchange
- Collaborate with VHA, OIT, DHA, FEHRM Program Office, system integrators, and other partners to maintain and enhance cross-agency integration strategies between DoD and VA
- Provide technical analysis and input to interoperability capability roadmaps, project plans, and technical artifacts outlining requirements, risks, and dependencies
- Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to support go-live planning and pre- and post-go-live interoperability activities
- Review technical project documentation, deliverables, and plans and provide recommendations to client leadership
- Advise client in developing technical and programmatic plans responsive to current and future interoperability requirements
- Coordinate with development and user teams to assess risks, goals, and operational needs and ensure alignment across stakeholders
- Support Government Project Managers in developing and updating Project Work Statements (PWS), deliverables, and execution oversight to ensure alignment with project scope and objectives
- 10+ years of professional work experience
- Experience managing Information Technology–related projects
- Strong understanding of system lifecycle and project management methodologies
- Experience tracking cost, schedule, and performance metrics
- Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and mitigate technical and program risks
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business, or a related scientific/technical discipline
- An additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of degree requirements
- Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)
- Experience implementing or supporting Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
