We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, security, and day‑to‑day operations of enterprise and cloud‑connected networks within secure federal environments. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience with Cisco-based routing and switching, firewalls, WAN/LAN architectures, and basic cloud networking in Azure or AWS. This role supports mission‑critical network operations and modernization efforts while working alongside senior engineers and architects to ensure secure, resilient, and high‑performance network services.

What

You Will Do
  • Assist in the design, deployment, and maintenance of LAN/WAN, site‑to‑site VPN, and network infrastructure across on‑premises and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and load balancers in accordance with agency security requirements.
  • Support Azure/AWS cloud networking tasks including VPC/VNET configuration, routing, security groups, and connectivity troubleshooting (with guidance from senior engineers).
  • Monitor network health, performance, utilization, and uptime using enterprise monitoring tools; elevate issues as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mid‑complexity network incidents related to routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, and connectivity.
  • Support network segmentation, Zero Trust‑aligned access policies, and baseline security configurations.
  • Assist senior engineers with modernization initiatives such as SD‑WAN deployments, cloud migrations, and security hardening.
  • Participate in the creation and maintenance of network documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and configuration baselines.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, federal cybersecurity standards, and change‑management procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (security, cloud, server, application teams) to support mission needs.
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's Degree or Additional FOUR (4) years' experience in lieu of degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "TOP SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance and ability to obtain SCI.
  • Minimum of FOUR (4) years of experience in network engineering, network operations, or infrastructure support.
  • Hands‑on experience with Cisco networking (IOS/NX‑OS), routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), VLANs, and firewall fundamentals.
  • Experience supporting networks within secure or compliance‑driven environments (Federal, DoD, or similar).
  • Familiarity with cloud networking concepts in Azure or AWS (VPC/VNETs, routing, VPNs, security groups, load balancers).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to work independently or with senior guidance.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document configurations and procedures.
Nice to Have Certifications
  • CCNP (highly preferred)
  • CCIE (ideal but not required)
  • CASP+
  • Cloud Networking Specialties (Azure Network Engineer Associate or AWS Advanced Networking Specialty).
Desired Additional Skills
  • Experience with SD‑WAN, next‑gen firewalls, and network automation (Ansible, Python, Terraform).
  • Familiarity with Zero‑Trust architectures, segmentation strategies, and modern security practices.
  • Exposure to NIST 800‑53, STIGs, RMF, or similar federal compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Solar Winds, Splunk, Elastic, Cloud Watch, or Azure Monitor.
  • Comfort working in multi‑site or distributed network environments.

The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
