Director of Capture & Strategic

Exo Talent Partners is partnering with a confidential, mission-driven technology organization supporting defense, space, and national security programs to identify a Director of Capture & Strategic Growth.

This role is central to growth execution and focuses on winning priority pursuits across complex government acquisition environments. The position reports into senior growth leadership and works closely with business development, engineering, program leadership, and executive stakeholders.

This opportunity is ideal for a capture leader who understands how to shape, pursue, and win high-value programs where credibility, strategy, and execution discipline matter.

• Lead capture strategy for priority defense, space, and national security pursuits from pre-RFP through award
• Develop win strategies, teaming approaches, and price-to-win models
• Partner with business development to shape opportunities early and qualify pursuits rigorously
• Coordinate proposal development activities, reviews, and readiness
• Influence bid/no-bid decisions and pursuit prioritization
• Maintain disciplined pipeline visibility and forecasting
• Engage credibly with government customers, industry partners, and internal leadership

• Improved win rates on targeted pursuits
• Clear, executable capture strategies aligned to mission outcomes
• Strong internal alignment across growth, engineering, and delivery teams
• Predictable execution in complex acquisition cycles

• 10+ years of experience in capture, strategic pursuits, or growth roles supporting U.S. Government programs
• Demonstrated success winning multi-million-dollar defense or space contracts
• Strong understanding of DoD and/or Intelligence Community acquisition processes
• Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels
• Strong judgment, communication skills, and executive presence

• Active or previously held U.S. security clearance strongly preferred
• Willingness to travel as needed
