About

The Role

One Main is on a mission to build and scale industry‑leading digital experiences that empower millions of customers across web and mobile platforms. We’re looking for a Senior Researcher who brings depth, curiosity, and strong execution to how we understand our users—and who treats research as a strategic lever for product and business impact.

The Senior UX Researcher will lead high‑impact research across our digital loan journey and broader product ecosystem. This role partners closely with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering to uncover meaningful user insights that inform strategy and drive measurable outcomes. The ideal candidate thrives in complex, ambiguous problem spaces and is skilled at translating research findings into clear, actionable recommendations. You will play a critical role in shaping product direction, influencing stakeholders, and advancing research craft across the organization.

  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into compelling insights that inform product strategy and roadmap decisions.
  • Translate research findings into actionable recommendations that drive measurable product and business impact.
  • Influence cross‑functional stakeholders—including Product, Engineering, Marketing, Risk, and other non‑UX partners through strong reasoning and storytelling.
  • Facilitate research readouts, workshops, and collaborative sessions to build alignment and accelerate decision‑making.
  • Connect insights across studies, touchpoints, and journeys to identify systemic opportunities and patterns.
  • Advocate for user needs while balancing business goals, technical constraints, and regulatory considerations.
  • Advance research standards, best practices, and scalable processes across teams with varying levels of UX maturity.
  • Create clarity and momentum in high‑stakes or ambiguous problem spaces, enabling confident, informed decisions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience conducting UX research in product‑driven environments.
  • Experience leading end‑to‑end research using mixed methodologies (qualitative and quantitative).
  • Strong communication and influence skills with cross‑functional and executive stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate research insights into product decisions and measurable outcomes.
  • Hands‑on experience with UX research platforms (e.g., User Testing, Qualtrics etc) and familiarity with behavioral analytics tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Portfolio demonstrating research impact on shipped products.
Preferred Skills
  • Relevant financial services experience is helpful.
  • Experience working in complex or regulated industries.
  • Advanced degree in HCI, Psychology, Anthropology, Cognitive Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience building or scaling research practices in low‑ or mid‑maturity UX organizations.
